Tulip brings crashing waves on her
Silky face and bright red roses of
Exquisite beauty.
Through red-tainted glass watches the
Jester of disguise who feels seductively
Enwrapped by the Gaze of Tulip.
And his heart beats stronger . . .
But no passion from her will spring forth his
Prize for she springs not a prize to be
Won.
Ah, but he hears her soul singing
And crying against the clouds for him.
Expensive gold raindrops flow down his
Pale cheeks as he sniffs the cruel
Air.
"Why can we not live together?
Why does this cursed world cause
Bright loving winds to separate?
Let us again mesh as one, not two.
Any wrong I will try not to do.
Can this heart for once be tame?
Does not your heart beat strong the same?
Kill me so this pain will drift away.
I know not what else there lies to say."
Tulip replies in her strenuous voice of love,
"I cannot take a life,
But I can preserve a life."
The jester's lights in their sockets
Gleam with lucid love,
But he must flee from this place
Lest he be shamed and slain.
And so he doth run.
